The concept of bedrooms as a distinct part of the house came up centuries ago as the size of the place to stay became bigger. The earliest men lived in caves, eating, sleeping and cooking in the same place. Gradually the system of having a demarcated area for sleeping and cooking evolved, and thus the first bedrooms were born. A bedroom is a very private part of the house used for rest, relaxation, sleeping and getting ready. The number of bedrooms in the home help to decide who gets them singly and who has to share.
